helloancolie asked: Can you please come to Montreal, Canada ? please please please! Love you and your music :) Can't stop listenning !! xx
I’ve always wanted to come to Canada, i recently did a tour of the Midwest and East coast of US. so who knows maybe my next travels can take me onto Canadian Soil, i would certainly hope so :)
thebonesyouaremadeof asked: I'll take you up on that Mr. Barnes! Do not disappoint me :) Did you always knew you want to become a musician?! I mean.. it's a tough "job", you open up to complete strangers a bit of your heart & soul (at least it sounds like you do..) and they decide whether they like it & if you're successful or not.. did you ever had doubts about it?!
I have doubts about it all the time, but you use it to try and push on and better yourself. I didn’t always know, but i knew as soon as i finished my first gig that this was something i wanted to pursue, just over the years its really humbled me and given me opportunities i would never of had, there’s something deeply gratifying about connecting with people through songs you’ve written. i love it :)
thebonesyouaremadeof asked: I'll keep my fingers crossed.. Berlin is really in need for some good new musicians.. so don't hesitate to come over here! :) by the way.. is there any chance to get a physical copy of 'Blisters'? I downloaded it but it feels somehow better to have it on cd.. :/
I’ll make sure i bring one to Germany when we tour and you can buy one off me personally :)
thebonesyouaremadeof asked: some plans for a short visit to Germany (preferably Berlin)?! would really love to see you live on stage.. told my friends about you & we were already singing to 'Come undone' pretty loud together.. ;)
I’m in talks with doing a small little run end of July with a friend in Oxford. Nothing is confirmed yet but we’ve got a couple of the UK dates down and I’m sorting a Netherlands show, so very much hope that the German part of the tour comes together too! Berlin is definitely on the list to play this summer though. :)
frenchersdan asked: Where do you get your inspiration to write songs and have you got any advice for song writing? :)
Most of my inspiration to write songs comes from hearing other peoples songs, a new song or a melody that really takes my fancy makes me wanna sit behind a guitar for hours trying to create something just as nice.
As for advice - I always try and decide what i’m going to talk about in the song before i write it, i sit down and try and play what comes to me from that, if i like it i stick to it. Sometimes it doesnt work but sometimes it does. The main thing is your enjoying what your playing. Then if other people enjoy the song - even better!
